Art that was unlike anyone else’s, his work began to sell from his New York City loft and the word spread among collectors and celebrities alike. The quintessential artist in the fashion of Van Gough, Mapes strives for poverty and perfection in his art. Mapes has been discovered dozens of times by at least that many galleries, collectors and agents, but time and time again, he rejects the fame and seeks instead the solitude of his work and the perfection of his trade. Fighting fame he remains the artist’s artist with both his ears. We are proud to represent him and even happier to call him our friend.
